Lawrence J Brophey
Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 22nd at the age of 92. The father of Dean and Jane (John) Skalecki and grandfather of Kelly Warpechowski. Lawrence served with the 18th regiment of the first division in the European Theater of Would War II. He made the Normandy landing on D-Day, was wounded on September 11th on the German border and returned to his unit on December 25, 1944. He was the recipient of two bronze stars and the Purple Heart. The youngest of 8 children, Larry had a legendary sense of humor and a warm heart. A Brewers, Badgers and Packers fan, he loved long drives in the Wisconsin countryside, admiring neat farms and abundant crops.

Larry lost the love of his life, Ruth (nee Wood) in 1976 to cancer. A great father and patriot, we love and will miss you. Thank you to the staff of Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington and the Zilber Hospice of Wauwatosa. Visitation on Thursday, October 27 at the funeral home from 11:30-1:30.
