Obituary for Paul D Burkhardt

Paul D. Burkhardt, age 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on July 2, 2017.

Beloved husband of Susan, cherished father of Paul, Katherine and step-daughter Monica (Justin), loving and proud grandfather of Isa, Vivian and Leo. Further survived by his sister Yvonne and brothers Merrick and John along with many cousins, nieces and nephews and numerous lifelong friends.

Paul was born November 30, 1945, in Chicago, IL. He was raised in Racine, WI where he graduated from Holy Name Grade School and St. Catherine's High School. Paul moved to Milwaukee in 1966. After several years of self-employment, he was asked to manage Patrick Cudahy's Credit Union. Paul was President there under its new name, People's Credit Union, for 38 years until he retired in 2012. Paul was the former President of both Cudahy Chamber of Commerce and South Suburban Chapter of the Wisconsin Credit Union League. Paul also served on several civic committees for the City of Cudahy. He received numerous awards and acknowledgements to include Cudahy's Chamber of Commerce Person of the Year in 1997.

Paul had many interests including golfing with friends and walking his much loved dogs. He will be remembered for his loyalty, kindness, humor and storytelling.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 8 at the funeral home from 4 to 8 pm and again on Sunday, July 9 at the funeral home from 10 to 11 am. Funeral service will be July 9 at the funeral home at 11 am. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery in Racine.
