Obituary for Virginia M. Arenas (Cantu)

Arenas, Virginia M. (nee Cantu) lost her battle with ovarian cancer on January 12, 2017 at the age of 80 years. She is reunited with her beloved husband, Hilavon J. Arenas. Loving mother of Deborah (Donald) Hecker, Jennifer (Alexander) Popovich, and Robin (John) Fleischer. Proud grandmother of Justin, Jason, Victoria, Lisa, Genna, Tony, Daniel, Jacqueline, Elizabeth, Alexander Jr., Michaelgina. Great-grandmother of Kaden, Elena, Ty, Bradley, and Makai. Dear sister of Gloria Jean (Mark) Bzdel, Marilynn Simpson, Jackie Zalin, Sally Toman, and Peggy Kukla. Preceded in death by her son, Joseph, and stepson, Guy. Further survived by Connie Benner, Armin Palacios, Lisa Ziolkowski, Dean LaPlant, Jerry Arenas, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Virginia was a member of the Christian Mothers at Our Lady of Guadalupe and volunteered at St. Anne’s Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Our Lady of Guadalupe or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation are appreciated.

Visitation on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (613 S. 4th St., Milwaukee) from 10:00AM-11:00AM. Mass of Catholic Burial on Tuesday at 11:00AM at church. Private entombment.
